I don't mind homosexuality in a book or movie the same way I don't mind violence or nudity as long as it is relative to the story.

While it doesn't fit with my memory of the story as told in the 1956 movie starring Bridgette Bardot, it certainly protrays an interesting possible other interpretation of the seige of Troy.

I really enjoyed this book, especially because of the combination of historically accurate details, beautiful description and how it makes the story of Troy more accessible and real for the reader.

I was familiar with the legend of Achilles, so personally thought the plot was predictable, but I wanted to read it from Patroclus' POV.
